The Site’s Concept
TheGardenArtForum.Com was constructed in response to what many of us felt were abuses by other forum operators and the general lack of useful resources those sites had to offer.
I will do everything I can to make this the kind of forum that we have all dreamed of. A place where good people can share their interests, ideas, questions & answers in an open and free manner. A place where images of your projects remain yours & yours alone. We will never make any claim to using your images or anything you post for any purpose other than that which you intended…to simply share them here with your friends.
There are and will continue to be, permanent files for the creation of an ever growing knowledge base. Everything from definitions of basic terminology to advanced techniques. They will be built up from contributions by myself, the membership and visiting “experts” in various areas of art, crafting, technology & commerce. Contributions by members are to be strictly on a voluntary basis and by invitation only. If you post a technique, tutorial or any such information that is deemed to be of significant long-term value to the overall membership, we will ask if you would consider our making it a part of the permanent files and we always respect your wishes.
TheGardenArtForum is your site. Your home. I am merely an architect/builder. So please let me know if there is anything I can do to make it the kind of place that you enjoy coming to often and I will do my very best to accommodate you all.
And please be patient with me. I am not a “Techie” or a web guru. I am just a working artist who believes deeply in the free exchange of ideas & knowledge. And, like most artists, I am far from being wealthy. Building this site, with all the added features has been a labor of love that has cost me dearly. Someday it will hopefully sustain itself. And since I have chosen to make it free to the membership, there is indeed advertising to help defray the costs involved. But I will never, ever throw it in your face. Annoying pop-ups, distasteful & offensive ads, “adult” content and that sort of thing will never be permitted on TheGardenArtForum. And, what advertising you do find here, will hopefully represent products & services that are of real benefit to you & your interests. I am currently working with the providers & manufacturers of many of those hard-to-find products & supplies that so many of us have had difficulty locating, in the hope that they will see some benefit in making them available here.
So…there it is. That’s the plan. Whether it works or not is up to you. All I ask in return is that you honestly let me know what you think and need. Because the only way this can ever become the special kind of place I am hoping it will be…is for each of you to participate in its creation and nurture its growth. As a great man once said about his business…”If you like what you see, tell a friend. If you don’t, tell me and I’ll fix it”.
As Always, All My Best to All of You,
